Learning outcomes

The course provides advanced knowledge on the role of intelligence as a decision-making process and as an institution. At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand: what is intelligence analysis, useful for preventing threats to national security; the complex relationships between the intelligence community and political authorities; the role of new technologies and the human factor in intelligence activities.

Teaching methods

Lectures, webinars, and research work. Each student (individually or in a team) will do practice during the whole course, for both theory and case studies.

Assessment methods

The exam is divided into three parts: laboratories, open-ended tests and a final oral exam relating to the research work

Digital presentations, videos, webinars, a publication of lecture notes, the use of a forum for ongoing questions and clarifications, collaborative writing and communication
