Teaching methods
Students are divided into small groups to observe and recognize the microscopic and macroscopic features of the organs.
Attendance to learning activities is mandatory; the minimum attendance requirement to be admitted to the final exam is 60% of lessons. For Integrated Courses (IC), the 60% attendance requirement refers to the total amount of I.C. lessons. Students who fail to meet the minimum attendance requirement will not be admitted to the final exam of the course, and will have to attend relevant classes again during the next academic year.
Professors may authorise excused absences upon receipt of proper justifying documentation, in case of illness or serious reasons. Excused absences do not count against a student’s attendance record to determine their minimum attendance requirement.
Assessment methods
The exam of the integrated course consists of a written test about Biochemistry and Semeiotics and subsequently of an oral test about both Anatomy and Physiology.
Students that pass the written test (score higher or equal to 18) must take the oral tests on the immediate next occasion (usually after a few days). If the score of the written test is equal or higher to 24, students that will not pass the oral tests can repeat the oral part only on the next avaliable oral exam date. Otherwise, also the written test must be repeated.
For the anatomy laboratory the student will be asked to recognize one of the above slide, presented under the microscope, and then describe it.Teaching tools
