Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student has the basic knowledge of differential and integral calculus for functions of a real variable and the first elements of the calculus for functions of several variables as well as methods for solving differential equations. In particular, the student is able to: - represent data or functions in graphic form; - with applications of differential and integral calculus for functions of one or more real variables. The student also knows the rudiments of computer programming and is therefore able to create simple programs for the analysis of numerical data.

Course contents

Module I. The real numbers. Differential calculus for functions of a real variable. Exponential and logarithmic function. Trigonometric functions. Limits and continuity. Derivatives, monotony, local max and min. Module II. Integral calculation for functions of a real variable: primitive and integral, integration method by parts and by substitution. First order differential equations. Differential equations of higher order than the first.
