74831 - GEOLOGIA APPLICATA E IDROGEOLOGIA

Academic Year 2019/2020

  • Moduli: Alessandro Simoni (Modulo 1) Alessandro Gargini (Modulo 2)
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures (Modulo 1) Traditional lectures (Modulo 2)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Geological Sciences (cod. 8015)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to acquire and report geological-technical data for using into the main engineering-geological projects.

Students will acquire the base-knowledge of hydrogeology and hydraulic properties of geological material.

After working through the course, the students should be able to specify a basic site investigation strategy to identify soil deposits and determine their characteristics, interpret their findings, appreciate the effects of sampling on the quality of soil samples taken for laboratory testing, and the implications of these effects for the interpretation of such test data. Students will also familiarize with the principle of operation of common in-situ testing devices, their applicability and parameters that can be reliably obtained from them.
