Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding on neuropsychological and behavioral disorders related to CNS diseases. He knows the general concepts of clinical neuropsychology and the physiotherapeutic implications of neuropsychological disorders, as well as rehabilitation goals and recovery phases.

1) Introduction to cognitive neuropsychology

2) HEMISPHERAL SPECIALIZATION

3) The aphasic syndromes: the cognitive approach to aphasia.

4)APRAXIAS

5) AGNOSIAS

6) SPATIAL DISORDERS

7) UNILATERAL SPATIAL NEGLIGENCE

8) Awareness disorders.

9) Attention Disorders

10) Cognitive and behavioral alterations from frontal lobe injury 11) MEMORY and memory disorders

12) AMNESIC syndromes

Theoretical notions on the clinical manifestations of neuropsychological disorders and on the relative operational skills will be studied in depth, from the point of view of the physiotherapist. The most common tools for assessing neuropsychological disorders will be presented. The impact of these disorders in the rehabilitation setting will be evaluated

Interactive frontal lessons, with the aid of power-point presentation, practical demonstrations and comparison on video projections

Written verification, with evaluation of two clinical cases with neuropsychological disorders.
