Learning outcomes

Basic knowledge of Internet Law: the legal profile of electronic commerce and IT security.

Course contents

  • The law regulating legal acts on the Internet
  • The applicable legislation
  • Contracts for accessing the network, e-commerce contracts (B2B and B2C), computer contracts (regarding such issues as software development, software licensing, etc.), cloud computing
  • The electronic and digital signatures
  • Fundamental rights on the Internet and torts
  • The right to personal data protection
  • The protection of IT software, databases, multimedia, with an analysis of various legal instruments: copyright, patents, a sui generis protection
  • Legal aspects of IT security.
  • Computer crimes

A suggested reading as basic book of private law is:

It is compulsory for the student to keep up-to-date with the latest enacted laws.

Teaching methods

Traditional classes. Attendance to class is recommended, but not compulsory.

Oral examination.

Teaching tools

Students with disabilities, including learning disabilities, who need compensatory tools may communicate their needs to the lecturer and be addressed to a referee, with whom they can agree the adoption of the most suitable arrangements.
