Learning outcomes

L'obiettivo che si propone l'insegnamento e' un obiettivo complesso e composito per questo sara' necessario un preliminare approfondimento di alcuni aspetti del Diritto Costituzionale per poi concentrarsi specificamente sul tema delle pari opportunita' declinato secondo i diversi aspetti di cui all'articolo 3 della Carta Costituzionale.

Aim of this course is a complex one, requiring a preliminary study of some Constitutional Law topics in order to focus about the issue of equal opportunities, which will be detailed following art 3 of the Constitution.

Aim of this course is a complex one, requiring a preliminary study of some Constitutional Law topics in order to focus about the issue of equal opportunities.

Program:

Principles of Constitutional Law:

- sources of law

- freedom rights: the principle of equality

- guaratees of rights: civil, penal and constitutional justice

The path of equal opportunities:

- equal without sex discrimination

- women and the Constituent Assembly

- Italian regulations about equal opportunities

- work, family, political delegation

- Europe and gender mainstreaming

- ordinary law and constitutional law towards equal opportunities

- stalking and women killing: an involution of society.

- international approaches to equal opportunities

- sexual identity and same-sex marriage

- Equal without religious discrimination

- the italian judicial system and secularism

- articles 7, 8, 19 and 20 of the republican Constitution

- the issue of crucifix

- end-of-life dispositions

- equal without racial, language, political opinions and personal/social condition discrimination

 Consultation and knowledge of the italian Constitution is INDISPENSABLE


Teaching methods

First, the instruments of costitutional Law and the principle of equality will be examined; thereafter, the italian and european regulations about equal opportunities will be analysed.The topic will be examined both from a national and comparative perspectives.

Seminars on specific topics will also be held.


Assessment methods

The examination will be oral.

Participation to seminars, as well as papers on specific topics of the course will be taken into account in the final evaluation of students.
