78454 - Electrical Assets Management M

Academic Year 2018/2019

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Electrical Energy Engineering (cod. 8611)

Also valid for Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Electrical Energy Engineering (cod. 8611)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students own a knowledge of the management techniques of electrical assets in the framework of the issues related to the processes of management and maintenance of electric power systems, starting with technical-economical and power quality aspects; they are capable of developing then, in particular, diagnostic methodologies based on health index evaluation, reliability estimates and life modelling, the concepts of data mining and quality systems.

Course contents

  1. Asset management for electrical infrastructures
  2. Probabilistic and statistical tools for Asset Management (the concept of reliability, hazard rate, Weibull distribution, analysis of repairable and not repairable systems).
  3. Diagnostics of insulation systems based on partial discharge detection and analysis
  4. Dielectric spectroscopy as a tool for insulation system diagnostics.
  5. Health index and its application to power transformers
  6. Power quality
