Teaching methods

The course will consist of lectures and exercises on the theme of the year. The exercises relate to the relief and the graphic representation at various levels of detail, both two dimensional and three-dimensional and will be conducted on a topic of study. Students will be organized in small groups (max 4 persons) according to the necessities imposed by the subdivision's architectural complex. In each group, at the beginning of the course will be assigned certain portions defined geometrically. The periodic review of the works, performed both in the form of discussion of the paper drawings and digital correction of entries (with verification of the correct use of layers and of the statements), is an essential part of teaching and is therefore mandatory.

There are four revisions to be considered as "partial checks" refer to intermediate steps of the course (see calendar for dates):

- Review of eidotipi, with random verification of the taken measures;

- Revision of the graphic representation of the plant and elevations;

- Review of the photogrammetric and material survey

Assessment methods

The examination will focus on:

- Graphics and theoretical tests on the survey of architecture (individual test);

- Discussion of topics of lectures and review of the test; passing the test is a necessary condition for presenting the works of exercise;

- Presentation and discussion of the drawings produced in the final exercises.

The Survey of Architecture Course (32647 - Integrated Course) is an integrated course that combines the Architectural and Urban Survey Course (32648, 6 credits, 72 hour lessons) and the Tools and Methods of Architectural Survey (32649, 2 credits, 24 hour lessons) one.

The final exam will be shared between the two Courses (32648-32649) and will consist in:
- discussion on the topics covered during the lessons;
- presentation and discussion of drawings produced during the ongoing exercises.
The final evaluation will be the result of the following points:
- ongoing excercises;
- final group work and drawings;
- individual work and drawings.

Teaching tools

Slides will be provided of the lessons, examples for the encoding of the documentation to be produced and elements of structure files for raster and vector representation of the final products. It will also provide documentation on the objects of the preliminary historiographical survey. They are also provided by the Faculty, the second schedule to be agreed, instruments for measuring distances and heights, total station, photo camera. It is necessary to collect the relevant eidotipi on a sketch pad (A4 size recommended)
