Learning outcomes

At the end of this seminar, students will be able to: - use methods and techniques of qualitative analysis; - plan and implement a study based on them.

Course contents

During the seminar, the most important qualitative analysis techniques will be introduced as well as the ones that can be used through the CAQDA: Computer AssistedQualitative Data Analysis Softwares. From the data gathering to the data mining of interviews Focus Groups and Social Networks conversation.

A printed detailed syllabus will be provided to students the first day of class.

During the course further readings will be suggested upon the usage of software Nvivo, Atalas.ti, Dedose

Teaching methods

Lectures and practical presentation of analysis techniques, exercises and simulation. Participation is expected and rewarded. 

Assessment methods

The criteria for the acquisition of credits are:
1) The attendance  of at least the to 2/3 of the lectures 

2) Midterm exam 

3) A final test
