33153 - Modelling of Energy-Consumption Behaviours

Academic Year 2013/2014

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Architecture (cod. 0881)

Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide the basic concepts to study energy building performance and to design low energy buildings, particularly to suggest relation between building, structural and energy design, include plant choices.

The main topics of the course are the sustainable design of buildings, with architectonical and technological quality. The EBD course support the students to evaluate energy performance of buildings and thermo-physic units to control, also with software simulation.

Course contents

The laboratory course is divide in 5 work-in-progress steps: 0) general requirements; 1) Environmental; 2) Comfort level and building internal distribution of activity; 3) Preliminary Design: technical solutions, energy performance of buildings evaluating and plant scheme; 4) Definitive Design: verify energy performance of buildings evaluating and plant scheme

EBD Course contents:

Introduction : energy and buildings aspects related to energy behaviour – Environmental Technical Physics

Law framework:   European and Italian law and normative – Energy requirements

Energy Behaviour and Energy Design : Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB): calculation procedure, transmittance, Primary energy, plant scheme and typologies. Software application and EPB verify

Assessment methods

Final project-design oral presentation and discussion.
