Additive for accelerating hybridization

The catalyst additive reduce the In Situ Hybridization duration up to 157-165 minutes compared to standard (2/3 days). It can be added to commercial probes for hybridization on histological and cytological samples.

In the field of molecular techniques, In Situ Hybridizations are widely used in order to define the profile of diagnostics, prognostics and predictive genetic markers. Between all In Situ Hybridization methods, FISH technique is considered to have the highest sensibility and sensitivity but as disadvantage it requires 2/3 days for obtaining an outcome. This causes a discomfort for the patient waiting for the outcome of the analysis, and it delays the start of adequate therapeutic approach.

The present invention is applied in molecular analysis especially in the field of DNA/RNA aberrations investigated by In Situ Hybridization techniques. The patented catalyst additive is a mixture designed to minimize the analysis overall time from 2/3 days to few hours.

The patented catalyst additive can be used for a variety of biological samples, particularly breast, lung, brain and thyroid human tissues.

Main advantages:

  •    Overall time strongly reduced up to 157 minutes
  •    Low cost reagents
  •    Applicable to most laboratory protocols
  •    Can be used in combination with commercial probes
  •    Formammide free composition
