Tuition fees history for international students – a.y. 2022/23

As an international student, your tuition fees will be calculated according to your country of origin and the country where your family has income and assets.

If you are a student from one of the following countries, you will be granted the reduced tuition fees listed below. You may also be granted additional benefits.

Check if you are a citizen of one of the following countries

If you are a non-EU student from one of the countries listed below, with your income and assets only abroad, you will be granted reduced tuition fees:

You are a citizen of one of the listed countries

Your family has income and assets only outside Italy

If you are a non-EU student from one of the countries listed above, with your income and assets only abroad, you will be granted reduced tuition fees. You won’t need to apply for it, and you won’t have to submit documents confirming your financial situation.

You will need to pay a first instalment of €157.04 and then the following fees. These amounts apply to students who have been enrolled for a number of years less than or equal to the programme duration +1.

If you are enrolled in your second year, you will need to acquire a minimum of 10 CFUs from 11 August 2021 to 10 August 2022; from the second year on (and until the first year “fuori corso”) you will need to acquire a minimum of 25 CFUs.

Your tuition fees will be uploaded in your Studenti Online profile after 15 November 2022, i.e. after your CFU requirements have been checked. You can pay your fees in a single instalment if you have to pay less than €500, or in 2 instalments if you have to pay more than €500.

If you want instead to apply for financial benefits from ER.GO or the University of Bologna, or you think you are entitled to lower tuition fees, please apply by submitting the documents listed under Financial conditions of international students.

Your family has income and assets in Italy as well

Irrespective of your citizenship, if your family also has income and assets in Italy and you want to be granted financial benefits by ER.GO or the University of Bologna, or lower tuition fees, please apply for an ISEE for these income/assets and document your financial position abroad as explained under Financial conditions of international students.

You are not a citizen of one of the listed countries

Your family has income and assets only outside Italy

If you are a citizen of an EU or non-EU country that is not listed above, you will have to pay the full tuition fees.  Please check the full amount of tuition fees [.pdf 108 KB]

For financial benefits from ER.GO or the University of Bologna, or reduced tuition fees, please submit your financial-situation documents issued by the competent authorities in the country where the income was generated and the assets are owned.

These documents must be translated into Italian and legalized by the competent Italian embassy/consulate, with apostille if necessary. When you apply with ER.GO, please fill in the personal and financial data section online, and submit your financial-situation documents according to the instructions under Financial conditions of international students.

Your family has income and assets in Italy as well

Irrespective of your citizenship, if your family also has income and assets in Italy and you want to be granted financial benefits by ER.GO or the University of Bologna, or lower tuition fees, please apply for an ISEE for these income/assets and document your financial position abroad as explained under Financial conditions of international students.

ER.GO check of your documents

ER.GO will check all documents. If your documents are not accepted you will have to pay the full amount of your tuition fees.
