Learning outcomes

A good pratical knowledge of techniques and activities to teach English In Italian primary schools

Course contents

The course looks at the theory and practice of the teaching of English as a foreign language in primary schools. It focuses on the role of the "four skills": speaking , listening, reading and writing; and gives practical examples of games and playful activities; the use of songs, rhymes and stories; arts and crafts; and drama which stimulate the interest of the primary student.Most of the lessons will be in a workshop format in this way participants will come into direct contact with numerous activities that can be used directly in the primary classroom. In the later part of the course students will also have the opportunity of experimenting and evaluating publishers materials in order to understand their practical value and how to modify and improve materials to make them suitable for particular classes.

 As stated above the majority of lessons will be in a workshop format and will be held in English.

Assessment methods

The final evaluation will be in the format of a written exam. This will consist of preparing a lesson plan on a theme given at the moment exam.
