Course contents

The course addresses the issue of socialization in early childhood through a socio-constructionist perspective that considers the growth as a co-construction between adult and child in every life context, within which the organization of everyday life plays a central role. During the course, it will be addressed the theme of everyday life, seen as a social process in which occurs the inclusion of children in their own world. In this perspective and with the purpose of understanding the processes underlying the outcomes of development, it will be focused on the structuring and supporting function provided by the organization of every context of growth, primarily the family and the nursery. The social organization that characterizes each living environment (e.g. rules and values) constitutes a scaffolding that gives body and shape to the growth.
