Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows the fundamental dynamics of the economic action; - he knows the role of the various working actors in the economy of the sport; - he knows the role of the institutional actors and regulation of the economy of the sport

Course contents

The objective of the course is to apply to the sport field the main lines of reasoning of both microeconomics and macroeconomics. 

The first part of the course provides a theoretical basis that is fundamental to understand the dynamics of sport economics in the short and in the long term.

The second part investigates the process of globalization of sport economy, models in place in different geographical areas and effects of major sport events on the economies of countries.

Teaching methods

Traditional lectures kept by the Professor are complemented by an active participation of students. In particular, students are required to perform in small groups an analysis and a presentation of an academic paper.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of an oral test
