Course contents

The Introductory Workshop on Internships: - plays a central role in the students' training process;
- students begin to build their career and their approach to the professional field;
- brings students to face their own choices;
- ensures a direct knowledge of social services, social work and the role of social worker.
The Introductory Workshop on Internships illustrates the meaning of internship, which qualifies the training of social workers (as it happens in other professional disciplines). In particular, a "practical" approach will be preferred in order to deal with an in-depth analysis of a case and in its intervention steps:
- social demand;
- the methodological path;
- the intervention project;
- check and evaluation of the intervention.
The Introductory Workshop on Internships presents the network of socio-sanitary services, with particular attention to their local organization. This allow students to identify their professional field of interest. At the same time, training sessions are planned for the preparation and consolidation of professional practice which is the base of the learning “on the field” through the internship.
Classroom debate with professionals ensures a knowledge and understanding of organization of professional social work.
Passing the final exam of Introductory Workshop on Internships is necessary to attend the internship.
The attendance to this course is compulsory (at least 2/3 of the lessons).
