Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to get an advanced understanding of the legal instruments related to the Administrative Law.

Course contents

I. Introduction. Legal systems and the Administrative Law

II. Sources of the Administrative Law.

III. The Administrative Bodies. Public Administration, Civil Service, Agencies.

IV. The Administrative Power. Administrative Proceedings. Rule-making and Adjudication.

V. The Administrative Power. Regulation and Orders. Relief and other measures.

VI. Fair Procedure Principles.

VII. Flaws and the rule of law infringements. Ultra vires and Misuse of Power.

VIII. Judicial Remedies.

IX. Special Issues. Introduction to the Regulatory Law.

Theoretical and case law-based Lectures.

Assessment methods

The assessment will be focused on the Student's knowledge as well as the ability to settle issues related to the course subjects.

Teaching tools

Slides and Essays.

Case Law docs (Courts' rulings; European Commission and NRAs' measures; etc.).

Students who need compensatory measures and/or dispensative tools due to disability or Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) should communicate it to the Professor as soon as possible.
