Learning outcomes

The course is organized into three highly interactive modules designed to teach students how to address business communication challenges and develop crucial skills to effectively navigate the workplace environment. These include (but are not limited to) such skills as: team building, public speaking, management of team dynamics, professional business writing.

MODULE 1: NEW TOOLS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPENT
Software and tools:
– Project management: Trello, Basecamp, Asana
– Communication: Slack, Mailchimp
– Advertising: Facebook ads
– Analyze: Hotjar, Facebook insight
– Design: Balsamiq, Sketch
– Present: PowerPoint, Prezi

Presentations for business development:
– Types of presentations
– The core idea and the elements of a presentation
– Steps to create an effective presentation
– How to get better at presenting
– How to succeed in a Q&A session

MODULE 2: TEAM BUILDING
– What's a real Team: theory & practice
– Team Development Stages
– How to keep a Tean alive: Successful Teams Best Practices

Teaching methods

- Frontal lessons (25%)

Students will be asked to watch videos and read material to prepare for the following class discussion.

Assessment methods

The final exam will be a group presentation and an evaluation of the quantity and quality of the student's participation during the lessons.

The team will be requested to present a software (among the one we saw in the classes) and a feature they would like to implement to increase the value of the software.

In the final presentation will be evaluated:

- the structure of the presentation

- the slide design

- the performance

- the content

Teaching tools

Several videos will be used to explain concepts

Students will also be invited to practice presentations during the classes in order to become more confident and get feedbacks from the classmates.
