Learning outcomes

The main purpose of the course is to create a practical approach to entrepreneurship in the participants, developing their personal skills and providing them with the conceptual and operational elements necessary to launch a business activity.

Course contents

The main purpose of the course is to provide participants with the conceptual and operational elements necessary to launch a new business project. We will focus in particular on the following topics:

- the business plan

- the business idea

- the design of a new product

- the market analysis

- the business model

- the team

Laboratory exercises and sessions aimed at deepening the main operational aspects related to the creation of a new product are an integral part of the teaching program.

The students, in groups, will also be called upon to conceive and elaborate the design of a new product and define its launch on the market. These works will be presented at the end of the course.

The first 4 theoretical lessons will take place with the following calendar in Room 3 of Piazza Scaravilli 2:

- Monday 9/3 13-16
- Thursday 12/3 13-16
- Monday 16/3 13-16
- Thursday 19 / 13-16

The final date for presenting the projects must then be set.

Moreover, each group has to book 8 hours at the ALMALABOR laboratory in order to develop the prototype of the new product.

Teaching methods

Experimenting methodologies of practical and experiential approach to innovation, stimulating the aptitude for problem solving and team work through the enhancement of multidisciplinary skills and the potential of the various technologies available in a Manufacturing Laboratory

The course includes the use of interactive teaching methods: lectures, group exercises, sessions in laboratory.
The course favors the discussion and an active participation of the students in the classroom.
It is advisable to read in advance the contents of the lesson in order to facilitate the understanding of the main topics and their discussion in the classroom.

Assessment methods

Students, to be admitted to the final exam, must attend at least 75% of the lessons.


The admitted students will have to develop a interdisciplinary group manufacturing project in order to favor the contamination and systemisation of competences and language comparison.
