Assessment methods

For all examination sessions of the a.y. 2020-2i Coronavirus emergency and following the Dpcm 8 March 2020, on measures to contain and combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the examination will be written and oral, through the Teams platform.

The learning is verified through a final written test lasting a maximum of 90 minutes, and a subsequent oral test lasting on average 15 minutes, both subject to prior registration in the online lists prepared by the secretariat.

The written test aims to ascertain the skills acquired in the subjects dealt with during the course, and will consist of a passage with 4/5 comprehension questions, various grammar completion, multiple choice or transformation exercises on the subjects dealt with during the course, and which are indicated in the programme, and a composition theme of your choice with a minimum of 70 words.

The use of books, exercise books, notebooks, dictionaries and/or computer media is not permitted.

Evaluation grid for the written test:

30-28: in-depth knowledge of grammar, accuracy and clarity in the answers. The attribution of praise presupposes, in addition to the previous requirements, a completeness in the answers, a clear and elegant presentation of the task, original reworking in completing the answers, and personal contribution to the topic by exceeding the minimum number of words.

27-26: thorough but less precise knowledge of grammar content, accuracy and clarity in the answers. Less elegant presentation of the task, and less reworking in completing the answers and personal contribution to the theme.

25-24: Fair knowledge of grammar, precision and clarity in the answers. Overall correct language even if characterised by some inaccuracy, distraction and error.

23-21: sufficient knowledge of grammar and language not entirely correct. Presence of several errors in the answers, answers left blank, theme slightly larger than the minimum required.

20-18: overall little more than sufficient knowledge, even if sometimes deficient, of the grammatical contents with incorrect and inconsistent language. Presentation of the task unsatisfactory, little certainty in the answers, theme not very original and/or personal.

unsuccessful test: Serious gaps in preparation inherent in grammatical content, with linguistic interference, typos, some parts left unfinished, theme with too many errors and confused, incorrect and inadequate language.

The written test is assessed by a mark of at least 18 points, which must be positive to allow access to the oral test. This aims to verify the acquisition of the linguistic knowledge of oral expression required by the course programme, and consists of taking a look at the written assignment and checking the errors made, and a brief interview with the teacher in which the teacher is asked to give his or her personal presentation in order to assess the personal ownership of the language. This test is awarded from 0 to 2 points.

The final grade, expressed in thirtieths, is calculated from the overall assessment of the written test and the oral test.

The results of the written test are made public on the School's website, before the date scheduled for the oral test, while the results of the oral test and the final grades are communicated to the student immediately at the end of the oral test.

Students have one week to review their assignment to accept or reject the grade once.

Students can take the oral exam in one of the three appeals provided for each session, i.e. June, September and February.

During the first and last lesson all the information about the exam will be given, just as during the last lesson a simulated exam will also be taken, in addition to the publication of copies of past exams on the teacher's page.
