Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to: know and experience the main processes and activities carried out by the prevention technicians in the public prevention services on workplace health and safety issues; know how to carry out, interpret and evaluate systems, risk assessment documents and prevention and protection measures for health and safety at work through experiences in the private sector in companies and private consultancy firms

Course contents

I semester

General objectives

- Know the organization and experience the main activities carried out by the Occupational Health and Safety Consultancy Services

Specific objectives

- Know the organization and the main activities carried out within a consultancy study on health and safety at work.
- Know and know how to use the criteria, tools and methods for carrying out a company's risk assessment
- Participate in the process of risk assessment for health and safety at work through the identification of risk factors, their estimation and / or measurement and identification of the necessary prevention and protection measures
- Knowing how to recognize the main collective and individual prevention and protection measures to be adopted following the risk assessment process
- Know and test the operational support tools for the processing / updating of the security documents used in the internship structure
- Know and experience the development of safety procedures, operating instructions and / or check-lists necessary for prevention activities in the workplace
- Know and participate in the organization / carrying out of information, training and training programs on workers' health and safety.

II semester

1) General objectives

- Know and experience the organization and the main production processes of the U.O. Prevention and Safety of AUSL Work Environments
- Acquire general knowledge on the organization of the SDR and in particular on the OU. to which the student is assigned;
- Acquire knowledge on the methods of supervision and control in the workplace and on the application of current legislation on health and safety at work (construction sites, industrial, agricultural companies, etc.);
- Observe the methods of carrying out inspections, acquiring documentation, interviewing corporate subjects and interacting with them;
- Know how to investigate, determine, contest and report irregularities detected during the inspection activity;
- Acquire the practical knowledge to be able to carry out, within the sphere of one's own competences, inspection and surveillance tasks as a judicial police officer;
- Know the tools and methods of carrying out investigations for accidents at work and occupational diseases
- Know the tools and methods for the expression of production sites opinions

2) General objectives

Know the organization and experience the main activities carried out by the Company's Prevention and Protection Services

Specific objectives

- Know and experience the risk assessment process of a production company
- Know and experiment the methods and tools for assessing and updating the risks to health and safety at work of a production company
- Know and experience the use of information and operational tools aimed at processing the risk assessment document and related updates
- Know, identify and test the application of prevention and protection measures and information and training programs provided by a production company

Teaching methods

Individual attendance in periods of apprenticeship with professional tutors at public facilities (ASL), Company Prevention and Protection Services and Professional consultancy studies on health and safety at work.

Assessment methods

The learning test will focus on an oral test on the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship periods in relation to the activities carried out in the AUSL Services, consultancy studies and Company Prevention and Protection Services with discussion of the project work on the internship experiences carried out.
