Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is able to know how to sample and measure the main risk factors present in the living and working environments; exercise the knowledge acquired at a theoretical level which can then be implemented in the internship activities.

Course contents

Hygiene and Public Health

1st lesson

- Health and hygiene requirements of the resales of plant protection products and reference legislation for health and safety on the purchase / use of plant protection products.

- Drinking water sampling techniques

II lesson

- Sanitation and safety requirements of educational establishments.

- Safety in the home and cases of unsuitability of housing.

III lesson

- Measures to combat insect vectors of diseases transmissible to humans and pests and unwanted animals in living environments.

- Hygienic-sanitary control activities and the risks to the health of users in beauty centers.



Food hygiene and veterinary hygiene

IV lesson

- Administrative and PG documents relating to food and veterinary safety with related forms (administrative pecuniary sanctions, seizures, suspensions / closure of activities, crime reports)

- Official control in the beekeeping sector. Inspection on the honey processing process.

V lesson

- Prevention of mushroom poisoning.

VI lesson

- Official control in fishmongers.

- Official control in butchers.

VII lesson

- Official control in the wine industry and self-control documentation.

VIII lesson

- Official control over animal feed. Sampling and the national animal feed plan.

IX lesson

- Official food control. Sampling and the regional food plan.

X lesson

- Official milk control. Sampling for the detection of mycotoxins.

Teaching materials made available by the teacher on professionalising topics regarding health and safety in the places of life and work.

Teaching methods

Lectures and group exercises on the professional subjects covered

Assessment methods

Administration of questionnaire consisting of 35 multiple choice questions and 1 open question, on prevention issues addressed in educational workshops. The exam will be passed if the student correctly answers the open question and at least 25 multiple choice questions.

Teaching tools

Power point presentations and teaching materials (images, videos, texts) made available by the teacher on professionalising topics regarding health and safety in the workplace and in the workplace
