Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students should be able to identify the main mental illnesses and use the  instruments for assessing  their cognitive deficits. Students should be able to write a report.

Course contents

The course will take place during the first semester (from September to December 2018) at the Cesena Campus of the School of Psychology and Education (address: piazza A. Moro, 90, Room Anfiteatro)

Diagnosis of main mental illnesses on the basis of  DSM5, symptoms, clinical signs, case history, neuropsycological assessment.

Differential diagnosis among the different psychiatric disorders.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons during which the more important psychiatric disorders will be illustrated by discussing clinical cases according to DSM5.

Assessment methods

Written questions concerning the topics discussed during lessons. More specifically, clinical cases and research articles will be discussed.

The students will be required to answer 20 multiple choices questions in 1 hour.

The student is required to complete the online registration (Almaesami) within the terms in order to be admitted to the exam. In the case of technical problems the student is required to promptly contact the Segreteria Studenti and email prof. Di Sarro (within the terms) who will consider the request and decide about the admission.
