Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will: - know some of the formal and non-formal learning processes as well as the social and cultural conditioning of lifelong learning; - be able to understand and analyze norms and documents relating to welfare and lifelong learning policies; - know how to understand sociological research materials in the field; - be able to find, read and interpret some of the sources and statistical data relating to lifelong learning; - be able to independently develop professional skills by identifying and using appropriate paths and methods of technical-professional upgrading.

Course contents

The first part (Prof. Ghigi) addresses some issues of the sociology of education with particular reference to inequalities in education, competences, and labor policies. The second part (prof. Rossi) will focus instead on vocational training and its various applications in regional regimes.

Interactive classes and e-learning.

Assessment methods

Written test with open-ended questions for both attending and non attending students. The final mark, if more than 18/30, can be changed by an oral examination.
