  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures (Modulo 1) Traditional lectures (Modulo 2)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Geological Sciences (cod. 8015)

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, the student knows the base concepts of information management, with particular emphasis on the organization of computers and networks, and on digital graphics. The student will be able to apply the basic concepts of cartography and digital cartography. Moreover, he or she will be able to manage simple cartographic applications.

Course contents

  • The first module is composed of two parts. The first one is an introduction to computer science, with particular attention to information encoding and management. The second one consists of a laboratory activity of data collection and analysis, and development of a server-side application.
