66306 - Electroanalysis and Corrosion

Academic Year 2018/2019

  • Docente: Clinio Locatelli
  • Credits: 4
  • SSD: CHIM/01
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Chemistry (cod. 8856)

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student has the theoretical basis of analytical techniques based on the principles of electrochemistry and fundamental knowledge on corrosion. The student knows how to choose the most suitable electroanalytical technique for solving various real problems.

Course contents

Potentiometric methods of analysis: direct potentiometry and potentiometric titrations.
Voltammetric methods of analysis with the use of Hg electrodes and solid electrodes.
Basics of corrosion: thermodynamic and kinetic aspects.
Morphology of corrosion
