Learning outcomes

The Internship 2, after the insertion occurred in Internship 1 of the student in the clinical practice of a dental structure, aims to broaden the tools they need to participate as a member of the dental team. In particular, the student is able to:? attend a dental department an active part;? apply the knowledge gained;? relate to patients who belong to the department and follow with regard to the skills dental hygienist.

Course contents

OBJECTIVES OF TRAINING SECOND YEAR, AND II SEMESTER
The student learns to program the therapeutic procedure of oral hygiene and treatment planning, control and remove any deposit or mineralized springs both above and subgingival topical application of various prophylactic means to prevent, control and reduce oro-dental diseases in different clinical presentations.

Content of the discipline:
Case study, planning and programming process therapeutic interventions.
Application techniques and indications:
• Place the chair
• Substances revealing plaque.
• Fluoroprophylaxis.
• Sealing of pits and fissures.
• Periodontal Survey.
• Calculus removal manual and mechanical.
• Root planing to overcast manual and mechanical.
• Removal of soft deposits, exogenous pigments, polishing of tooth surfaces.
• Polishing of dental restorations.
• Treatment dental hypersensitivity.
• Techniques of teeth whitening.
• Maintenance therapy in different clinical pictures: operational protocols, timing of periodic reminders in: patient child, adolescent, young adult, adult, elder.
