Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows and comprehends the grammatical, morphological and syntactical structures of modern Greek.

Course contents

Review of the Greek alphabet, articles, verb conjugations done during the year before.

In class, readings, simple present, nouns with different inflections (-ας/- α/η. etc)

Future progressive, present imperative, verbs in their different grammatical tenses, the verb "to be", "to have", irregular verbs, accentuation, simple past (Αόριστος), future tense (Στιγμιαίος Μέλλοντας), adjectives, perfect tenses, personal pronouns, Αρέσει / αρέσει να: to like, to must, reflective forms, passive forms, auxiliary verbs

Simulation of daily conversations (at the bar, at the police station, to the doctor, at the post office)

Writing exercises to learn the orthography.

Listening to songs and small conversations.
