Learning outcomes

The student will learn computer skills, with the ability to apply them to data processing and presentation in environmental sciences. In particular, the student will learn concepts about computer architecture, main computer tools, Internet and databases. The student will be learn also some rudiments of programming.

No textbook is needed, since all the didactical materials will be available on the e-learning platform.

Assessment methods

The final exam aims to evaluate if the goals of the class have been reached:

- to learn concepts at the basis of main computer tools, of the Internet and the Web, of multimedia systems and digital images, and of databases. 

- to be able of using main software devote to personal productivity. 

The final mark is defined through a Web test (which evaluates the knowledge of main concepts and theoretical aspects) and through the evaluation of projects developed during the practices in the lab.
