Learning outcomes

The course focuses on the Italian Constitution. The understanding of the constitutional text and its implications involves the studying of: fundamental constitutional principles, sources of law, human rights, constitutional powers, individual rights in the judicial process, relations between the Italian law system and the European/International legal systems.

Course contents

The italian legal system in a historical perspective; The legal system and constitutional law. The state. The international legal order. The sources of law: general concepts. The sources of law: the individual sources. Protection of the rights. The rights and duties. The forms of government. Popular sovereignty. Parliament. The President of the Republic. the Government of the Republic. The judicial system. Constitutional justice

Teaching methods

The course will be hold through lectures.

Assessment methods

The students learning will be verified through a final exam, testing the formative outcomes of the course.

The final exam consists of an oral exam, focused on the course contents. The first part of the exam will be led by teaching assistants, while the second part by professor.

The final grade will consider the results of each part of the exam.
