Attendance to learning activities is mandatory; the minimum attendance requirement to be admitted to the final exam is 66% of lessons. For Integrated Courses (IC), the 66% attendance requirement refers to the total amount of I.C. lessons. Students who fail to meet the minimum attendance requirement will not be admitted to the final exam of the course, and will have to attend relevant classes again during the next academic year.

Excused absences may be authorized by Professors upon receipt of proper justifying documentation, in case of illness or serious reasons. Excused absences do not count against a student’s attendance record to determine their minimum attendance requirement.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

The assessment exam will be divided in:

1) True/false questionnaire. The student will be given a total of 36 questions (10 Anatomy, 20 Physiology, 6 Semeiotics) on different topics regarding the Cardio-Respiratory apparatus. Each question will contain three True/false questions, for a total of 108 True/false questions.

Two points will be assigned for each correct answer, -1.1 points for each wrong answer, and 0 points for not answered questions.

2) Essay question. The student will receive a single question on some specific physiological function regarding the Cardio-Respiratory apparatus. In responding the question, give proof of integrative knowledge about the cardio-respiratory system, and provide elements not only on the physiologic function, but also on the anatomic structure, as well as on the semeiologic aspects.

A max of 22 points will be assigned to the True/false questions, and a max of 10 points to the Essay question, giving a total of max 32 points. A value above 30 will be considered 30 cum laude.

The minimum score for passing the exam will be 12 points for the True/false questions and 6 points for the Essay question, corresponding to a final score value of 18.

Note: A minimum score, in both tests must be reached, in order to pass the exam. If minimum is not reached in one of the tests, the entire test will be considered insufficient.

The test must be completed in 135 min (i.e. 90 min for the True/false questions and 45 min for the Essay question. The two tests will be administered at the same time, giving the liberty to the student to organize the time for the development of the test.
