Academic Year 2022/2023

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 5709)

Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide the student with the essential elements for general theoretical and practical knowledge of primary and secondary diseases involving, from a medical point of view, the kidneys and excretory tracts with the aim of providing: - synthetic and simplified information on therapeutic, pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches useful in medical nephropathies, in acute and chronic renal failure; - general elements for a correct approach to patients treated with replacement therapies characterizing nephrology, in particular in dialysis and kidney transplantation. At the end of the course the student knows the basic notions of the main pathologies of nephrological interest in their chronic phase and of the biochemical, instrumental and clinical investigations necessary for their diagnosis and hints of therapy. Thanks also to participation in scheduled internships and single-issue elective courses, at the end of the course the student has the theoretical-practical basis for recognizing the type of pathology by evaluating its symptoms, clinical signs, laboratory and instrumental examinations.

Teaching methods

Lectures with slides / online according to the indications that will be provided by the university secretariats

Assessment methods

The exam is held in oral form.

To take the exam, it is necessary to register via the electronic bulletin board, respecting the deadlines.

Those who fail to register by the scheduled date are required to promptly communicate the problem at the appeal stage. It will be the faculty of the teacher to admit them to the test. The verbalization of the evaluation obtained takes place at the same time as the test itself. The purpose of the oral exam is to verify the student's ability to apply his or her knowledge and to make the necessary logical-deductive connections.

Graduation of the final grade: Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that emerge only with the help of the teacher, expressed in an overall correct language → 18-19;

Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to autonomous analysis only on purely executive matters, expression in correct language → 20-24;

Preparation on a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;

Basically exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis and connection, full mastery of specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflection → 30-30L.
