Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop the student: knows the evolution of palliative care and specific legislation; knows the fundamentals of the organization of palliative care services and the complex needs of the patient with oncological and non-oncological pathology and his family; knows the role and skills of social work in palliative care.

Course contents

The seminars organized within the course will address: the legitimation of the social worker in palliative care; The culture of palliative care; The ethical aspects of the social worker profession; The methodological aspects (use of the interview, team work, network, community work); Comparing experiences.

 

The seminars will be the following: 

• 17 MARZO ore 13-15 Anna Tedeschi (Hospice Fidenza): Un inquadramento storico e normativo delle Cure Palliative in Italia.
  
• 31 MARZO ore 13-15 Massimiliano Cruciani (Associazione ZeroK): Cure Palliative: un diritto, un valore e un’opportunità.
• 7 APRILE ore 13-15 Tania Prandi (AUSL RE): Il valore delle persone e il limite delle cure: il ruolo dell’assistente sociale in cure palliative.
• 21 APRILE ore 13-15 Andrea Ravelli (Hospice Mantova): Il bisogno sociale nel fine vita: l’integrazione professionale dell’assistente sociale nelle cure palliative.
• 28 APRILE ore 13-15 Ugo Albano e Nicola Martinelli (Assistenti Sociali e formatori): La bioetica del fine vita e gli atteggiamenti etici degli assistenti sociali.
• 5 MAGGIO ore 12-15 Federico Pellegatta e Alberto Mantovani (VIDAS): Il lavoro di équipe in Cure Palliative.
  Valentina Cappi (Unibo): Tra ricerca e pratica in Cure Palliative.
• 12 MAGGIO ore 13-15 Silvia Casale (Consorzio ASP nell'Hospice San Martino di Como; UCPDOM Associazione Accanto Onlus): Continuità assistenziale in cure palliative: un laboratorio sartoriale

Teaching methods

Lectures with in-depth study of case studies, practical exercises and group work.

Teachers will be present, so the presence of students is strongly recommended.

Assessment methods

Credits will be recognized when the following conditions are met:

1) Attendance of the seminar meetings (6) (there will be an attendance check for each lesson).

2) Final examination, the details of which will be communicated at the beginning of the Workshop.

The final examination consists of a paper to be sent by email to the teacher at the latest 10 days before the date of the examination:

- the topic is of the student's choice and can be communicated and discussed via email with the teacher;

- the paper must have a maximum length of 15000 characters including spaces.
