Learning outcomes

Because of the frequency and after passing the final exam of the course “Light in cosmetic sciences”, the student -has acquired knowledge of the features of continuous and pulsed light sources; -advanced knowledge of optical, photophysical and photochemical processes occurring in semiconductor materials used as pigments or additives in cosmetics, -knowledge of the main experimental techniques and optical components used for photophysical and photochemical analysis of materials; – knowledge of the basics of digital photographic image acquisition and image processing and their application to cosmetics; -knowledge of methods based on the use of light emitting diodes and lasers for whitening, hair removal, photo-polymerization and skin photo-treatments; -can apply the gained knowledge to real problems as well as to new issues related to application of light to cosmetic science.

Oral examination with choice of a research article on one of the course topics and following discussion with questions.
