Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: - knows the main theoretical models, methods and tools useful for the design of guidance interventions to contrast the school drop-out; - knows the main theoretical models, methods and tools useful for the design of guidance interventions to accompany the transitions training and work; - knows the main methods and tools (e.g., skills assessment) useful for designing guidance paths to support the socio-occupational integration of vulnerable groups (e.g., ex-offenders, immigrants, people in social disadvantage); - is able to analyze the psycho-social variables involved in the process; - is able to operate a critical assessment of guidance paths to support the socio-occupational integration of vulnerable groups (e.g., ex-offenders, immigrants, people in social disadvantage). is able to analyze the psycho-social variables involved in the guidance process; - is able to make a critical assessment of guidance paths aimed at preventing conditions of social disadvantage; - is able to design guidance paths and job placement of people experiencing situations of disadvantage.

Course contents

The course aims to explore the theoretical, research and operational aspects of traditional topics in Work Psychology, according to the current international literature and with constant attention to intervention strategies.

The course also aims to provide students with an introduction to the main basic assumptions in the field of career guidance, in order to acquire the basic knowledge related to the development and implementation of interventions in this field.

Students are strongly encouraged to actively participate in the teaching activity and are responsible for being updated on information provided in class and/or on the https://virtuale.unibo.it [https://virtuale.unibo.it/] platform.

Students are expected to exhibit proper and respectful behavior all the time. This involves both avoiding illicit behavior that is subject to disciplinary action (e.g., copying texts from classmates or the internet, falsifying data, etc.) and observing basic social rules.

Assessment methods

Please note that the specified methods could vary due to the medical emergency caused by Coronavirus and the resulting deliberations of the Course Committee.

The final exam will be a written test based on the exam program reported in the “Texts/Bibliography” box. The test is composed of 40 close-ended questions. Each question provides 4 or 5 options for answers.

The exam lasts 30 minutes.

Students with special needs are invited to inform the professor in order to evaluate the opportunity of adapting the exam procedure (e.g., oral test).

To date, the standard procedure for taking exams is face-to-face.

In order to take the exam, students must enrol through AlmaEsami application. Students who are unable to enrol by the expected deadline due to technical problems, are required to promptly notify the Teaching Secretariat and the Professor.
