Teaching methods

The main method will be the traditional lecture. Furthermore, a group project will be carried out as well as in-class discussions based on articles from work psychology journals. As for the group project, which is optional, this will consist in reading a book chapter or a scientific article on a work and organizational psychology topic and   the presentation of the main content of the chapter/article during a lecture.

Assessment methods

Written examination based on  30 questions, of which 23 are open ended questions and 7 are multiple choice questions. Each open ended question assigns 1.5 points. Each multiple choice question assigns 0.935 points. Open ended questions require to write a small portion of text within the available space. The answer is assessed according to its relevance, completeness, and clarity. Multiple choice questions are composed of five different response alternatives. Wrong answers to multiple choice questions are not penalized by subtracting points to the final obtained score. The examination assigns a maximum of 32 points. To pass the examination, a minimum of 18 points must be obtained. To obtain 30 plus lode a total of 32 points must be obtained. The time available for the examination is 60 minutes. For students who will carry out the (optional) group project, this will contribute to the final score with a maximum of 6 points - in this case, the written examination will assign a maximum of 26 points. Foreign students (e.g., Erasmus students) are highly recommended to contact the lecturer to discuss the possibility of undertaking an oral examination.

Students with disabilities (e.g., learning disablities) are invited to contact the lecturer to explore the possibility of a different assessment method that considers their personal difficulties.

Nota bene: At the beginning of the teaching period (i.e., February 2022) an evaluation of the COVID-19 pandemic situation will be made in light of University safety guidelines and prescriptions and, in consequence of that, it will be decided whether the course assessment (i.e., the student examination) will be on site or online.
