Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will dispose of an average communicative competence, both oral and written, in order to satisfy her/his basic needs in everyday life, in different social and professional domains.

Her/his competence should approximately reach B1 level of the Common European Framework.

Course contents

VERB:

Transitive and intransitive verbs of motion without prefixes and with prefix po-.

Verbs of motion with prefixes. The use of the main prepositions after verbs of motion.

The verb aspects: meanings and characteristics of imperfective and perfective verbs.

Formation and use of the imperative.

Gerund. Forms of gerunds and their use. Formation of gerunds in the present and past tenses.

Participle. Forms of participles and their use.

Formation of active participles in the present and past tenses.

Formation of passive participles in the present and past tenses.

Short and long forms of passive participles.

Passive constructions. Formation of passive forms from imperfective and perfective verbs in the present, past and future tenses.

ADJECTIVE/ ADVERB:

The comparative and superlative degree of adjectives and adverbs.

Short form of adjectives.

PRONOUN:

Idefinite and negative pronouns.

SYNTAX:

Direct and indirect speech. Transformation of direct speech into indirect enunciative, exhortative, interrogative sentences introduced by interrogative pronouns (used as subordinating conjuctions).

Teaching methods

The course is articulated in 40 hours of frontal lessons, in which the linguistic competences are mainly developed, and in many hours of laboratory activities, that privilege the communicative competences and practical language skills.

The tutorial lessons are part of the course and will be part of the exam program.

Assessment methods

The students are asked to do a written examination and an oral test.

The written test is to verify the linguistic competences, in particular elements of morphology and word-study, including the ability of written comprehension.

The oral test is focused on the communicative competences, on the ability of oral expression. The first part of the oral test is in Russian and is dedicated to the skill of speaking on historical, cultural, geo- social aspects of the country.

The second part of the oral exam is focused on the linguistics theoretical contents of the course programme.

The final grade is the result of the average between the written exam and the oral examinations.
