Readings/Bibliography

The pdf files of the slides utilized during the lessons are indispensable and sufficient for the preparation for the exam. They are available on IOL. To master and deepen the knowledge of electric drives  the folowing books can be taken into consideration:

1. B. Brunelli: Conversione elettrica ed elettromeccanica dell'energia, Pitagora, Bologna

2. A. E. Fitzgerald, C. Kingsley, A. Kusko: Macchine elettriche. Franco Angeli

3. M. Rashid, "Elettronica di potenza. Vol.1, dispositivi e circuiti", Pearson-Prentice Hall, 2007, 3a edizione

4. N. Mohan, T. Undeland, W. Robbons, "Elettronica di potenza: convertitori e applicazioni", Hoepli, 2005, 3a edizione

Teaching methods

The slides utilized during the lessons will be available on virtuale.unibo.it: https://virtuale.unibo.it/. The theoretical explanations are integrated by numerical simulations of electrical drives in SIMULINK/MATLAB.

Assessment methods

The learning assessment is based on a final written test. If desired, it is possible to take an additional oral test (including a presentation of a Matlab/Simulink project). The final grade will be the average of the marks of the written test and the optional oral test.

Teaching tools

Lessons and exercises are carried out with the help of a Personal Computer and a computer projector (Power Point). The pdf files of the slides utilized during the lessons will be available on virtuale.unibo.it. The frontal lessons are supported by exercises with Personal Computer (MATLAB-Simulink).
