Teaching methods

From September 2020, the classrooms will be equipped with technological infrastructures to allow for mixed teaching, both in presence and remotely. A classical teaching method of the lectures is used. However, during the lessons the participation of the students who can ask for clarification or deepening of the subject matter will be encouraged. We will try to keep the students' attention by asking them questions related to the topic under discussion. Furthermore, the discussion on the problems related to the main therapeutic compounds used in aquaculture and to the Community legislation on residues of drugs in edible tissues of aquatic organisms will be encouraged. Practical exercises and quizzes using IOL or Kahoot, will be proposed to improve understanding.

Assessment methods

The Veterinary Pharmacology course is a module of the integrated course of APPLIED VETERINARY PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY. The exam consists of an oral test and will be performed concurrently with the Veterinary Toxicology exam. Based on the safety requirements relating to COVID-19, the test can be carried out in the presence or remotely by means of Teams. The oral exam aims to verify the acquisition of knowledge provided by the course. The exam consists of at least two questions for each module paying attention to favor correlations between the topics covered in the two different modules so as to verify also the student's reasoning ability. The final grade is the arithmetic mean of the marks obtained in the two didactic modules and is expressed in thirtieths.
