Learning outcomes

Throughout the course, the students will develop a deep knowledge regarding the history of industrial design since the industrial revolution. Students will also acquire the tools to critically read and analyse the most important events of the history of design worldwide.

Course contents

The course retraces the history of industrial design since the second half of the nineteenth century in Europe, United States and beyond. The aim of the course is to discuss the history of this discipline and its interconnections with architecture, arts, politics and society.
