Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student possesses knowledge, in the field of his / her competence, relating to the legal medicine. Social medicine, criminology, forensic psychopathology, forensic toxicology, deontology, medical ethics and clinical bioethics are specific areas of expertise of the sector.

Course contents

Introduction. Legal requirements of health professions. Professional secret. Medical records, certificates. Notification to the judicial authorities. Information and consent. Compulsory health treatments. DAT and shared care planning. Voluntary termination of pregnancy. Hints of thanatology. Hints of traumatology. Assessment of death.

Any recent textbook of legal medicine.

During the course, didactic material will be provided and the presentations will be available on Virtual.

Teaching methods

Lectures and discussions of cases.

Assessment methods

The exam will consist of a multiple choice written test that aims to evaluate the achievement of the educational objectives: to know the main medico-legal issues of the nursing profession. The questions will be 10 and the score is 3 for each correct answer.
