Course contents

Erasmus students can contact the teacher to get more information: labs are in Italian, so it is fundamental to have at least a level A2 in Italian. Each lab is 24 hours and you must attend all lectures (only 25% of absence, so 6 hours).

You can find timetable of each lab online at the calendar for the 4 year of the degree course Primary Teacher Education.

On Almaesami you can register for a single lab (or ask the teacher how to do it).

It is MANDATORY to be present during the first meeting of the lab, otherwise students will be excluded from the lab itself.

This course is designed to be a learning environment where to discover digital technologies for kindergarten and primary school.

Students will be invited to explore and discover programming as a learning activity and problem solving processes that can be enhanced by programming activities.

In this course we will discover how to program with Scratch (a block-based programming environment), how to code without a computer, we will play with light and electricity to create simple circuits and with some educational robots.

Readings/Bibliography

All the readings will be provided during the lab in digital format

Teaching methods

The course will use a virtual environment where to share ideas, homework and reflections.

Assessment methods

This Laboratory does not have grade, but "idoneità" (pass/fail evaluation).

Each lab is made of 3 ECTS: there are 24 hours in presence (8 hours for each ECTS) and 51 hours of individual study (each ECTS is 25 hours).

To get the "Idoneità" (final evaluation) students must attend all 24 hours (with active participation) and provide all assignments request.

With the "idoneità" an informal feedback will be provided (sufficient, good, perfect, perfect cum laude).
The feedbacks will be based on:

- quality of participation during lessons;

- student's behavior;

- on time handing of homework or exercise;

- quality of the projects produced during the lab

Teaching tools

Lectures are usually in the computer lab with pc and interactive whiteboard.

It is recommended to have a pc/laptop for the assignments to be done at home
