Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the basic models and principles of logistics and operations management. At the same time the student will be able to master the most important tools of management of the logistics and operations function. As a consequence, at the end of the course the student will be able to understand the management of the technical functions in a company, as well as its links with the other functions.

Teaching methods

Lectures will be enriched using practical examples in order to introduce and explain key concepts. Particularly during the course some Business Games will be run so that students will be testing 'real' situation in order to experiment in a protected environment concepts such as (amongts others): supply chain, lead time, variation, push vs pull, kanban system and 5S

Assessment methods

A written exam will allow to test students learning. Questions (both open and multiple choice) together with practical exercise are part of the assessment.
