Teaching methods

Module Materials Characterization M: (24 hours)

Frontal lectures.

Module of Laboratory of Materials Characterization (24 hours)

data and interpretation of the results with relation to the properties of the investigated materials. The theoretical support of this Course is represented by the “MATERIALS CHARACTERIZATION” Course.

Assessment methods

Module Materials Characterization M: (24 hours)

Oral examination on the program.

Module of Laboratory of Materials Characterization (24 hours)

During the main experimental activities in the laboratory, students have to complete a sheet.

Final oral test.

The final test will evaluate the achievement of the teaching objectives:

- Understanding of the main investigation techniques for the determination of the nature and the microstructure of materials, along with their results.

- Understanding of the main investigation techniques for the determination of the mechanical and thermal properties, and of the possible results for the different materials classes.

The final grade is based on the average of the grades in three questions on topics concerning the teaching objectives.

The test dates for the whole year and the registration lists are available on-line on the official AlmaEsami website (the lists are closed 48 hours before each exam date).

Teaching tools

Laboratory training on the tests for materials characterization. Tests will be carried out on the most significant typologies of materials with relation to the test itself and the engineering applications of materials.
