Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is able to assess the legal issues related to the establishment and management of marine protected areas. It has the tools to develop a coastal protection project and to develop a program for assessing the effectiveness of the protection intervention.

Course contents

The course includes analysis of international law of the sea, in particular of the marine spaces, (Montego Bay Convention), analysis of the national law on the marine protected areas, analysis of the problems on the management of the marine protected areas and on the navigation within them.

The final exam will be oral.
