Learning outcomes
The course of Anti-Infective Therapy will supply the students with the basic principles about general and specific knowledge of anti-infective agents.
In detail, the students will learn the basic principles regarding chemical properties, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodinamics of anti-infective drugs, with particular reference to the clinical indications for use of anti-infective agents in the treatment of infectious disease.
Course contents
The Elective Course will be made in the month of June 2018 in the Clinics of Infectious Diseases, S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital (Pavillon n.6, 3rd floor).

Anti-bacterial therapy
1- General properties of anti-bacterial agents (classification, mechanism, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodinamics)

Anti-fungal therapy
5- The general properties of anti-fungal agents

Anti-viral and anti-retroviral therapy
8- The properties of anti-viral and anti-retroviral agents (classification, mechanism, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodinamics)
9- The classes of antiretroviral drugs
10- Indications to antiretroviral therapy
11- Toxicity of antiretroviral drugs
12- Other antiviral agents
