Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to read, write and translate a vocal elemental text by knowing the basic morphosynthetic structures of the nominal and verbal phrase and will be able to ask and give information in simple situations related to study and daily life.

Course contents

The alphabet, the basic notions of phonics, spelling, morphology and syntax elements;
grammar topics: the article, the pronouns, the demonstrations, the name (gender and number), some interrogative particles, the construct state, the adjective, the simple noun phrase, the simple verbal sentence, the simple concordances, the verb of first regular form and some forms of the derived verb. First-form verbs with weak root and hamza. First form verbs form with the second weak root.

Teaching methods


Interactive methods are used to provide students with written and oral personalized tutorials on scheduled topics.

Assessment methods


The exam consists of two written tests (one with the language assistant and one with the course holder) and one oral one. In written tests, the use of dictionaries for Arabic translations is permitted. The use of dictionaries is not foreseen for the language assistant. The language assistant's test consists of several exercises (question / answer, complete the sentences). The time available for writing is three hours for the proof of the course holder and two hours for the proof of the language collaborator.

Lectures and multimedia tools. Additional teaching material will be provided to the students by the teachers.
