Course contents

a) Introduction (in Italian) to the Dutch Studies. History of the Dutch language. Cultural history of the Low Countries.

Description of phonology and morphology of Dutch.

b) Linguistic activities with the following themes: Identity (name, occupation, family), Space (house and home, nation, origin), Time (counting, chronology, narrative /Tense and time), Things and processes (eating and drinking, buying and selling, booking and ordering, presenting; taste, preference and habits). Phonology and Morphology: vowels, consonants and diphthongs; syllables, compounds. Grammar: the main clause, the verbal group, time and aspect, modality, nouns and adjectives. Pronouns, prepositions and adverbs.
