Learning outcomes

The course will address issues related to the role of eating habits in both cognitive and psychological well-being. Furthermore, the course will address how food is represented in our mind, how it can influence our eating habits and how they can be altered in eating and body representation disorders.

  • Theoretical and methodological introduction
  • Motivational circuits and nutrition
  • Eating disorders
  • The representation of food in the brain
  • Altered representation of food in the brain in eating disorders
  • Food and action

The study will be based on the slides of the lectures that can be downloaded from the "Virtual" site and scientific papers

Teaching course and lab experiences

Assessment methods

The final exam will consist of a multiple choice test on all the topics of the course.

The written test consists of 30 multiple response questions, to be completed in 45 minutes. The score will be so assigned: +1 point for each correct answer, 0 points for each question not answered.

The test will be passed with a score equivalent to half the maximum achievable.
